It is hard to predict the future, but I claim that the computer will increasingly become integrated in math instruction.
I claim that the use of Computer Algebra Software will be the next big change in math instruction. Simply moving a group of students from the TI-83 to the TI-89 will change the way you teach.
The people who scream "rigor" and use the same worksheets every year will retire.
As students and teachers are able to focus on problems and not mechanics, understanding of math will improve.
Teachers will have to rewrite their math curriculum to reflect the increasing role of technology.
